A report with project outline, participant quotes, and evaluation insights from a workshop on social class differences, held at Dartmouth College (NH) in 1997. The project was led by EP co-founder Richard Chasin.
This experiment in discussing an oft-avoided subject was supported by the coordinated efforts of the Tucker Foundation, a group of administrators and teachers at Dartmouth College, Essential Partners (led by Richard Chasin), and the participants, most of them undergraduates in their summer term prior to Junior year.
The Tucker Foundation and Dartmouth College have long been interested in fostering a stronger sense of community within the student body by promoting the development of student skills and sensitivities in addressing matters of diversity.
